A lot of people think of churches as large buildings housing formal religious practices. But for me, church is not somewhere to go, but something to be. My house is a church, my friends are a church, my body is a church.
I am church.

Why is the reality of violence against women is so distant from me? It sickens me to think about how many men (myself included) are isolated from this violence. In suburban Victoria, it's so easy to pretend it doesn't exist.
Everything is peaceful, right?
But violence against women is everywhere.
