echo's power-free weekend
early oct/03
Echo House spent half-a-week without electricity or hot water (except for our stove and fridge). On Friday we had a house sleepover, and cut the breakers and hot water heater for the weekend--striving to challenge ourselves environmentally, to bond by candlelight, and for the sheer joy of washing dishes in total darkness.

WELCOMING

to close our year, we invited our Circle of Mentors for dinner and some time for reflection over the Community House project. Our mentors include radical elders who have inspired us, as well as past house alumni. Like a Quaker clearness committee, the mentors' role has been to ask questions helping us to reflect and evaluate.
